thyriothecia on leaves of Betula nana from Norway

Lothar Krieglsteiner

... collected at 7.7.2018 in the National Park of Lierne (Norway -near the Swedish Border), on leaves of Betula nana in "fjell" vegetation, about 1100 m NN, together with Venturia ditricha.

Unfortunately, the spores could only be observed inside the ascus.

I looked up in Ellis & Ellis but could not find a good match.

Can somebody provide me with a proposal?

Best regards, Lothar

Are you sure this is not a Coccomyces? Possibly dentatus but it's difficult to tell from the macro images.

Hello Paul,

thank you very much. Yes, you are right - I fully "stood on the tube" as I would say in German slang.

Best regards, Lothar
