Lecanoral?
Garcia Susana, 14-03-2021 00:20
Hola,

¿Alguna idea ?

Muchas gracias, un saludo.

Susana

Scoliciosporum sp. Probably S. sarothamni. Note S-shaped spores.

Re : Lecanoral?

Re : Lecanoral?
Wonderful docu including living and dead state as well as IKI reaction! Spiral spores are amazing, and I am curious to know in such cases whether they are righthand or lefthand curled. This can easily be seen when changing the focus of the mic to see which parts are closer to the eye and which more distant. Usually a species is either ... or.

I also experienced changes in the degree of curvature within a preparation depending on the mounting medium (H2O vs. KOH).

Re : Lecanoral?
Hola Zotto,

Re : Lecanoral?
Good description of hemiamyloidity! I appreciate that you did not have too much iodine so that everything doesn't get dark and intransparent.

Your spore in side view shows a lefthanded twist I think. It seems that in the left photo the spore is with the sharp area closer to the eye than on the right photo. If you imagine a screw, this one is a lefthanded screw.

Also your right pics in top view I would interpret so, because I think the sharp end is closer to the eye than thr rest.

Re : Lecanoral?

Gracias Zotto.
