Goodmorning,
From the Leeuwarder bos (Leeuwarden, Netherlands) a small asco, very reddening, no stipe. Asci IKI+, Croziers+, biserate, 70-95 x 6-7 µm. Parafyses septate. Spores with at least two drops and mostly 1 sept. 11-13 x 2-3 µm.
Can someone tell me what species this is (maybe Calycina?) ?
Thank you and kind regards,
Bregtje Miedema

Re : Reddening asco
Bonjour Bregtje,
These reddening apos remind me of Calycina heterospora but Congo red is not the best to observe cells contents (in spores and paraphyses) .
Indeed the spores would be septate and with oil drops in C. heterospora.
Amitiés. Michel

Re : Reddening asco
You are right, Bregtje, the apos were already in a rather bad shape and cells appear dead now . I'm afraid these last pictures will not allow more to say.
Amitiés. Michel
