Rutstroemia ulmariae(?) on Saxifraga rotundifolia
Gernot Friebes, 14-07-2025 13:37
Hi,

do you think this collection could be R. ulmariae? It grows on leaves and petioles of Saxifraga rotundifolia. Ascospores measure around 12.8-14.8 x 4.5-5.0 µm. Croziers are present.

Best wishes,
Gernot

Re : Rutstroemia ulmariae(?) on Saxifraga rotundifolia
It looks really very similar. Typically R. ulmariae has olive-grey-brown apothecia and occurs also on Potentilla, but 3x found with brown apos on the type substrate.

There exists an ITS sequence (KL462), presumably from Filipendula, but I do not have it.
