Parasite (?) on Nemania confluens
Stefan Blaser, 20-01-2020 18:50
Hello everybody,

Any help on this collection is very welcome:

Macro:

Ascomata along, and partly within, old, empty Stromata of Nemania confluens. Densely aggregated in linear rows and covered with a yellow pruina.

Micro:

Ascomatal surface with blunt, brown, septate, slightly thick-walled and roughened 20-60 µm long and 4-6 µm broad hairs.

Asci 8-spored, 150-172 x 18-22 µm. Paraphyses present, hyaline, 1 µm in Diameter. Ascospores two-celled, hyaline, rather dense and refractive, with a thin (1-2 µm broad) hyaline sheath, 32-40 x 7-8 µm (likely not fully mature...).

Many thanks and best wishes,

Stefan

Dear Bernard,

Thanks a lot!

Of the little I found so far that seems to be right.

Do you know of any newer full description of this species?

Many thanks and best wishes,

Stefan
