Very small (~0,5 mm) white ascos, found yesterday in N Germany on dry (dead) Humulus lupulus.
No asci, no spores... just these structures, maybe incrusted hairs??
Any IDea?
Thank you!

Re : Ascomycete on Humulus
Hello
Perhaps this is not a representative of Ascomycota?
Perhaps this is something from the Flagelloscypha genus?
Regards
Mirek

Re : Ascomycete on Humulus
Hi Christopher, I share Mirek's remark : not an ascomycete but a cyphelloid species in Flagelloscypha or Lachnella ?

Re : Ascomycete on Humulus
Thank you very much.
It should be Flagelloscypha minutissima.
Cheers
Chris

Re : Ascomycete on Humulus
It is very likely that it is this species, but until we see the spores, it can only be Flagelloscypha sp.
Mirek
The nature of the hair (thick crystals) best suits this species.
