Hymenoscyphus sur Rhododendron

Bonjour à tous,Sur Rhodendron ferrugineum, vers 2000 m d'alt. Tessin, Suisse.
Andgelo

Re : Hymenoscyphus sur Rhododendron
H. subferrugineus is not impossible. usually it has a little more oil in the spores.

Re : Hymenoscyphus sur Rhododendron
Hello,
I have found couple of times this Hymenoscyphuslike fungus on the same area during many years. There has been only a couple of fruitbodies on the twig, so it does not seem very common.
Now I finally decided to determine it. This is 3 mm wide and 4 mm high. The spores are multiguttulate, 14-20x4-5, some have only some big droplets. The paraphyses are multiguttulate and many, propably because of the very dry season here. The asci are about 150x10. From NM1 I found a species, that seemed to fit evenif the asci are too big (should be 90x9-10, but the measurements may have been done from dried specimen). The species is H. subferrungineus. NM1 describes it: Frb stipate, entirely reddish brown, apothecia to 3 mm broad, cup- to disc-shaped. stem 1-3 mm long.
I looked for confirmation from internet and stumbled into this. I'm a bit curious now. Does NM1 have a wrong species, does the nordic variation of this species differ so much in colour or do Hymenoscyphus colour have a wide variation or am I in the woods with my determination or what?
Marja
