Has anybody a key of the genus Botrytis? I found this species on ranunculus ficaria. In Ellis & Ellis only 8 species are described.... but I found this name on the net.
I found 2 clusters of spore groupes, 8/12x14/16µm en 5/7x9/10µm.
regards,
Ralph

Re : Botrytis ranunculi ?
Hello Ralph
This does not look right for Peronospora ficariae. Have a look at: http://www.ascofrance.com/uploads/forum_file/1963-v41-p341-0001.pdf

Re : Botrytis ranunculi ?
Your host plant is Ranunculus ficaria. Thus the most likely solution is Hennebert´s Botryotinia ficariarum described in Can. J. Bot. 41: 1963, of which a pdf is iin the internet from Ascofrance. The anamorph was said to be in the Botrytis cinerea complex, but it will have to be recombined in Botrytis according to present rules.

Re : Botrytis ranunculi ?
hello everybody,
thank you all for the feedback. In the meanwhile I also got an answer from Jan van Kan, a botrytis specialist at Wageningen university (NL). According to him, if the host is R ficaria, it must be Botrytis ficariarum, as this species is more specialised than Botrytis ranunculi . Hereunder also his message concerning the anamorf and teleomorf names. As from 2016 the name botryotinia would disappear and only the name botrytis would be used as this is the oldest name and as not all species have a teleomorf stadium.
Attached also the thesis of Martijn Staats about botrytis-species
