Durella?
Garcia Susana, 10-01-2014 10:03
Hi all

Apothecia growing in groups, unidentified hardwood.
The spore size is measured into the asci, mostly.
A septum appears during spore germination.
Asci are IKI - croziers +, and have a size of 100-120 x 9-12um.

I think that may be a Durella, but I can not identify.
I would appreciate your help.

Thanks, greetings.
Susana (Spain)

Re : Durella?
Hi Susana

I do not know this species. Maybe something new. Are the paraphyses in water? In some Durellas they contain yellow VBs in the apical part but here apparently not. The genus Durella seems quite clear.

Can you exclude coniferous wood?

Zotto

Re : Durella?
Hi Zotto:

The paraphyses in water are difficult to see. They are embedded in a material that holds them together, and I did not observe any yellow contents.

Respect to the substrate, I can say it was not coniferous wood. The species grows with Calycina vulgaris, and Cyphellopsis confusa.

regards

Susana

Re : Durella?
Will remain undetermined, I am quite sure :-(
But characteristic enough!
The substrate was lying on the moist ground?

Re : Durella?
It was a branch that was suspended in the undergrowth. She was not in contact with the ground.

(Era una pequeña rama que estaba suspendida entre la maleza. No estaba en contacto con el suelo)
