The spores were 40-80x2-3 and asci 90-150x10-15.
Paraphyses were only little curved at the tips.
I was going to determine them as Coccomyces coronatus.
Just happened to pick some of them, too with me and compared.
These are smaller, spores are narrower, asci shorter and paraphyse tips straighter.

I asked Henrik Lantz and he answered the following:

The only species of Rhytismatales I know of that occurs on ferns, is Mellitiosporium pteridinum (W. Phillips & Buckn.) Sacc. This species is unlikely to be a member of the core group of Rhytismatales. If Marja was thinking about Coccomyces when she looked at the specimen, it is also unlikely that it was a Mellitiosporium she saw, as Coccomyces always is circular or angular. At the moment I have no suggestion. Coccomyces coronatus is a generalist found on many hosts, and perhaps it can occur on ferns as well?

I just thought, that this would be a piece of cake for someone here.

yes, the latter two seems to be C. coronatus, I think. What leaves are those?

Hi,

they are here on Betula leaves. I think, that I haven't found them on others yet.
By the way, I'm not ashamed of this freehand macrophoto insitu, eventhough the focus could have been in front.
They seem to be quite pretty dressed in a modest way ;)
