Question Gnomonia
Peter Welt, 12-06-2010 12:42
Peter WeltHello friends,

Who has the work of Monod? If for Gnomonia (Ophiognomania) trientensis given setulae to the spores or drawn? Have here a find on leaves of Quercus. After Studies in Mycology 62 I come to the species.

Peter

Yes Guy. I have changed it.

Re:Question Gnomonia
I think it's Monod ?
Perhaps MONOD M. 1983 Monographie taxonomique des Gnomoniaceae. Beih. Sydowia 9 1-315.
But i don't have this work !
Sorry !

Hi Peter,
I join you the decription of G. trientensis in Monod.
I don't think you have G. trientensis on Quercus leaves.

Re:Question Gnomonia
Thank you Alain.
Since it can not be the type. The Monod writes to say "straight, with rounded ends, without attachments and with almost no oil." Of the spores 9-10 x 2-2.3 µm , asci would have 30 x 10 it may be true, but the oil (usually four drops) and the appendages ( setulae) do not fit. Then I have no idea what it could be. Perhaps it is then no Gnomonia. Yes, the Pyrenos make it a not easy.

Re:Question Gnomonia
Is there a long neck ? Did you measure it ?
Because, if ther is the typical long neck present in Ophiognomonia, I think you can have finally and simply Ophiognomonia setacea, very current on Quercus leaves. I have several recolts within the length of ascospores starts at 9 µm.

Re:Question Gnomonia
Hi Alain

Yes, the neck is more than 500 µm lengths and widths of the spores so well over 3.5. Thanks, once again solved a problem.

Peter
