Hymenoscyphus macroguttatus? on Phytolacca
Mario Filippa,

this is what I think to be Hymenoscyphus macroguttatus, found in Cinaglio (AT), Italy, 8-11-2025, growing in thousands on dead stems of Phytolacca americana on the wet soil.
Apothecia slightly reddening, stipitate.
Aschi with croziers, I+ bb in IKI.
Ascospores 16-21(25)x4,5-6 µm, multiguttulate, with 2-4 drops >3 µm and many smaller ones. Mostly fusoid, in part navicular, a few almost scutuloid. Without polar setulae. Some overmature spores with brown walls and one median septum.
Paraphyses refractive, but not so much.
Could it be?
Thanks

I think yes, no doubt. But only your last pic shows paraphyses in water and not sure if alive. The VBs should be much more apparent.

Re : Hymenoscyphus macroguttatus? on Phytolacca
Actually this was my only doubt.
Several days are passed since I collected it. Maybe I'll try to find it another time and observe the paraphyses immediately.
Thank you
