Does anyone know what anamorphic state these conidiomata that grew on the body of a wasp belong to? Would it have any relation to the perfect stage of Ophiocordyceps ditmarii?
Thanks again

Re : On wasps
Hello Enrique..
It may be just a superficial resemblence, but the September page of the Westerjijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute calendar is very similar to your picture. The picture in the calendar is Samsoniella aurantia.

Re : On wasps
Hi Enrique,
The calendar from the Wetserdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute features a beautiful picture of a different fungus for each month. It was given to me as a gift from someone at the instutute. I checked their website but did not find any reference to it. Their Webshop (http://shop.fungalbiodiversitycentre.com/books_and_publications/p-1/) would seem to be the place to buy it, but it doesn't seem to be there.
Perhaps someone here on the forum knows how to obtain a copy.

Re : On wasps
Are you aware of this paper (it considers also C. ditmarii):
Van Vooren, N. & C. Audibert (2005) Révision du complexe « Cordyceps sphecocephala ». 1re partie : les guêpes végétales. Bulletin mensuel de la Société linnéenne de Lyon 74: 221-254 ?
It is available at:
The 2nd part is available at:

Re : On wasps
I had already consulted both works, but I cannot find coincidences with my collection.
Thank you, Edouard

Re : On wasps
Hi Enrique,
can you try to show us the conidiogenous cells ?
Maybe it's a Isaria.
best regards,
Thorben

Re : On wasps
It could be a Paecilomyces species but I don't have a lot of documentation on that genus.
