Ombrophila or Roseodiscus sp.?
Godorova Olga, 23-01-2015 18:08
Godorova OlgaHello. I've found these on rotten stems of grass in a coastal sandy region of Israel. I think, I've seen them before and they are pretty common, but maybe often overlooked.
Fruit bodies about 2-4 mm.
Ascos about 160-180*18-22 mkm, 8-spored.
The spores are arranged in 1-2 raws, about 18-22*7-9 mkm.
Paraphises long and slender.

Rutstroemia paludosa or calopus. This depends on the grass family (Poaceae or not) and the croziers at the ascus base.

Now i look at the ascus bases - they look simple, without some crosiers, I think...

Hi Olga,

for me it is not possible to say croziers- or + with your pictures. I do not see basal cells.
Please try to make a mount with a very tiny sample of the fungus and don't give much pressure. If you have, add Congo Red and keep the condenser more open (two third).

Regards
Martin
