Hello all,
Yesterday in NYC I was visiting an eastern white pine that has the Zythia resinae teleomorph growing on the resin when I noticed these tiny gray cup fungi growing on the bark among moss and/or algae.
The cups are very small, measuring about 0.2mm in diameter. They have a light gray hymenium and darker gray recepticle.
Ectal excipulum is textura globulosa with some textura angularis.
There are clavate marginal hairs (photo)
Asci are clavate, thick walled, IKI-
Spores fusiform, guttulate. I only saw one free spore: 14 x 3µm, in the asci, in Lugol's solution, some of the spores appear 1-septate
Any suggestions as to a genus? Much appreciated as always!
Ethan
