Hello everybody,

Any help on this one would be much appreciated!

Host: Probably Euonymus alatus or a Pleosporales species on this substrate. Partly it seems to sit on old Stromata similar to Nitschkia parasitans but partly it seems to be on naked wood.

Macro: Perithecia scattered to crowded, not sitting on a visible subiculum, globose when wet, 0.15-0.25 mm in diameter, black, with a grainy surface. In dry state, the upper part is slightly collapsed inwards (cupulate).

Micro: Perithecial wall consists of globose to slightly angular, blackish-brown, mostly thin-walled cells, towards the interior with more flattened and slightly thick-walled cells. Asci 8-Spored, thick-walled, cylindrical, without obvious apical apparatus, 50-65 x 9-10 µm. Spores dark coloured, usually 3-septate, slightly constricted at septa, 9-11 x 3.5-4.5 µm. No Paraphyses observed.

Best wishes,

Stefan

Hi Andgelo, thanks! Yes, I guess this is a perfect match. But seems to be an unknown species then...

Hi, I know this species aswell, on Quercus wood...it is quite common that Capronia colls are unidentifiable. A.
