Peziza badia?
Margot en Geert Vullings, 21-10-2025 21:34
This cup fungus was found on the ground in a damp swamp forest. The inside is reddish-brown with a slight violet tinge, the outside is lighter. The milk does not discolor.

Ascus measured in water: 355.7 - 358.2 × 13.9 - 16.6 µm, croziers +, Lugol +

Spore with mostly two guttules measured in water: 16.6 - 18.3 × 8.6 - 10.5 µm, Qe = 1.8 Irregular warts, sometimes connected.

Could this be Peziza badia? We are unsure because it has few connections between the warts on the spores. We see more connections on pics of P. badia.

Thanks in advance, Margot & Geert Vullings

The spore ornamentation points to Legaliana limnaea

Re : Peziza badia?
Thank you very much, so the doubt was justified.
We also followed the key by choosing no reticulum, but we ended up with a species that doesn't fit.
