On Abies alba macroscopically similar to Propolis sp.
Pavol Palo, 27-08-2025 12:02
Hello dear friends
I would like to ask for sharing ideas on how to identify this find

Found on an even thinner branch of a lying and already completely dry white fir (Abies alba). The diameter of the "ascocarps" is up to 2 mm.
Macroscopically it resembles the genus Propolis sp. and at first I looked at it as immature. However, due to the size of the "ascii" and the likely presence of a large number of small spores, which unfortunately I cannot describe more precisely, I have doubts. The collection is dried and microscopically examined after resuscitation in KOH solution.

thanks in advance
regards
Palo
