Anamorph with muriform conidia on Betula seeds

A friend sent me a few Betula seeds with tiny black fungi on them. It has brown muriform conidia. On the Plant Parasites of Europe website I find no matching species on Betula seeds. Does anyone have a clue? Thanks!

Resembling Phragmotrichum platanoidis.

Re : Anamorph with muriform conidia on Betula seeds
Phragmotrichum platanoidis is found on twigs, not on seeds. Though it was found on Betula in Russia (https://www.cabidigitallibrary.org/doi/full/10.5555/19981005353).
Furthermore the conidia are lacking appendages.

Martin

Re : Anamorph with muriform conidia on Betula seeds
Thanks for your reply, Martin. I suspect that not many people are looking for fungi on seeds, but I may be wrong. Since P. platanoidis has been found on Alnus catkins, is it unthinkable that it can be found on Betula seeds?
I'm unsure about your comment about appendages. I see no appendages on the conidia of P. platanoidis in the literature, nor on this collection.
See attched file.

Re : Anamorph with muriform conidia on Betula seeds
OK, I see what you mean. I considered this to be remnants of the end cells of adjacent conidia, since these are formed in chains.

Yes, you may be right!

Re : Anamorph with muriform conidia on Betula seeds
I just discovered that P.p. was found 2023 in Germany on dead fruits of Acer pseudoplatanus:

Re : Anamorph with muriform conidia on Betula seeds
It has actually been recorded on Betula catkins (seeds?) from Finland:

Perfect! These catkins are just the "cones" holding the seeds:
