Asco at the base of decaying fern
Francois Guay, 20-05-2025 22:15
Francois GuayI found this ascomycete at the base of a dead fern last April, in Quebec, Canada.

Asci: 8-spored, IKI+ ( I think so)

Spores: 7.2–8.97 × 1.6–2 µm

Hairs remain unchanged in KOH

Does anyone know what species this might be? Thank you!

Hi Francois!

I think, you have found Micropodia pteridina/ Psilachnum basi-pteridii:
