Pestalotiopsis on Berberis?

Dear Forum,On leaves of Berberis julianae I found some small pycnidia with 2-coloured 4-septate conidia, 18-20.5x5-5.4µ. In some I also found 1-3 cilia at the top.
Pestalotiopsis seems a possibility but is not known from Berberis.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Marc

Re : Pestalotiopsis on Berberis?
Hello Marc
I suspect the material is a little old and appendages are often missing / hard to see? Have you considered Sarcostroma berberidis? See attachment
Best Wishes, Chris

Re : Pestalotiopsis on Berberis?
Hi Marc,
The conidia you show are typical for members of the Sporocadaceae. The species of this family are mostly not host specific.
The conidia of your collection have 1-3 apical appendages which are shorter than the conidium length and one small central, basal appendage. So, Sarcostroma should be excluded. Based on the key in annex Pestalotiopsis is the most appropriate genus and there Pestalotiopsis adusta seems to be the best match.
Best regards,
Bernard

Ah! For some reason I had not looked at image #1 or seen the multiple appendages. I think Bernard has made the best suggestion.
