6-spored asci Pleospora sps?
Hardware Tony, 28-06-2022 21:27
Hardware TonyHopefully there aren't too many 6-spored sps. to sort from, but first time I have come across this growth state. Found on Leucanthemum vulgare (Oxeye-daisy).
All asci depic 6-spores: 76 - 94 x 12 with tailed off ends. IKI -
Ascospores: Characteristically 90% 3-septate, occasionally 4-sept. traverse with 1-2-longitudinal, switching often to show 1-only and the other cells empty.  17.84 - 19.64 µm x 5.95 - 7.66 µm.
No Paras./hairs observed.

Apprecaite these can appear very similar to quite a few species and I have P. scrophulariae as my estimation at this stage. Hopefully the 6-spored asci will resolve some mysteries here,

with thanks for any ideas
