Hamatocanthoscypha-like sur Clematis vitalba

Salut,

Howabout Unguiculella? Hamatos have curved hairs, but they do not have solidifications - "glassines". Try MLZ and Lugol, they might help here. I dont dare to suggest a species. Zotto has several folders under Unguicuella, start there, check Iridinea also.

Please make good documents & keep the sample.

Hi

I see one paraphysis, are they all like this? Important to know if there are hooked paraphyses like the hairs in the hymenium.

Unguiculariopsis would have the microscopic appearance too, but has a brown excipulum. It is strange that it is in Cordieritidaceae. Unguiculella also has usually flexuous hairs, not so regular as here. Hamatocanthoscypha I would also exclude.

Verify two things: Asci are inamyloid? I doubt the simple-septate ascus base, immature asci with adhering basal cell should be checked.

Hello to both of you and thank you very much for your leads. I'm going to check if the asci are amyloid and if the asci have a hook (actually, I was a little hesitant).

Best regards,

Bernard

Hello Timo and Zotto,

Here are new microscopy photos. The asci are inamyloid and they do indeed have a crozier at the base.

The excipulum is brownish yellow in color.

What do you think ?

Hello Timo ,

I just looked at the hairs in the lugol : no particular reaction

ok, that excludes Hyalacrotes ... I dont disagree with Unguiculariopsis.

So your photos 6 + 8 are in water, not Lugol. With such excipular colour I would actually think Unguiculariopsis.
