dark blue, tiny, partly immersed, hairless 'perithecia'. Young asci thick-walled, without distinct apical apparatus; ca. 90 x 12 µm, saccate. Spores 2-celld, very finely ornamented, 10 x 5 µm. Paraphyses persistent.
