Hello,

Found by Laurens van der Linde, March 2020, The Netherlands.

On Rhytisma acerinum, on both sides of the leaf.

Conidia: 19.0-23.9 x 2.7-2.7 µm

Anyone who recognizes these?

Greetings, Riet

Re : anamorph (with dark hairs) on Rhytisma acerinum
Hi Riet

Compare with Volutella.
- maybe Volutella fusarioides?

Hi Mirek,

Thank you very much for your help!

On Mycobank I found this:

Penzig, O. 1882. Funghi agrumicoli. Contribuzione allo studio dei funghi parassiti degli agrumi. Michelia. 2(8):385-508

On page 484: Volutella fusarioides

Too difficult for me .... :-)

setulis = setae????  If so, too short

Re : anamorph (with dark hairs) on Rhytisma acerinum
Hello Riet

yes setulis means "with setulae" (i.e small - though not necessarily short - setae); in Latin diagnoses the ablative case is very much used - a case we do not have in English or Dutch.

See my recent thread about Stearn's "Botanical Latin" https://archive.org/details/BOTANICALLATINWILLIAMSTEARN/mode/2up

I'm afraid that doesn't help you with your fungus though!

Best wishes

Chris

A follow-up :-)

Laurens also sent the material to Björn Wergen.
