Hello, I need help with this bitunicate apothecium on dead twig of Rhamnus alaternus, at first I thought on Rhizodiscina sp but when I saw it carefully my doubts began. paraphysis cellular with rounded apex and with brown stools.
Asci bitunicate, clavate normally octosporic.
Ascospores, phragmospora when young starting with one septum, blue color, when mature 5 septa, dark brown cylindrical with hyaline apices, widening in the middle and with rounded apices.
Thanks for your help
Angel

Re : apothecium on Rhamnus alaternus
Would be helpful to have a spore size. Also the Lugol reaction should be tested. Some bitunicates have hemiamyloid hymenia.
You have only a single apo? I guess it is ca. 0.4 mm diam.?

Re : apothecium on Rhamnus alaternus
I have a Baggea-Melaspilea folder where I put bitunicate taxa with amyloid hymenium, but none fits your species, and most have hysterioid apothecia. This probably artificial group seems to be badly known. In Kutorga & Hawksworth 1997 I find no genus that fits.
