Re : Dasyscyphus/Lachnellula on Chrysolepis Husks
Interesting! I think it is a Capitotricha, but I have no idea about a species. I understand the hairs are around 65 µm long, which is much too short compared to C. bicolor.

Imprtant would be to clarify the ascus base, croziers or not. In Capitotricha croziers are often absent.

Will confirm and report back.  Thank you, Dr. Baral.

By the way, I notice that your name figures prominently into the systematics of this genus.  When you say you have no idea what species it might be, are you suggesting it could be undescribed?

Re : Dasyscyphus/Lachnellula on Chrysolepis Husks
This is very difficult to answer. My database does not even contain Chrysolepis. Did you ever collect this species or is it the first time? Maybe it is specific, maybe not. The first thing would be to clarify the croziers. Capitotricha is not easy, and it seems there exist several undescribed species, at least when omitting all those inadequately described taxa which nobody can use for sure without restudy of the types.

Re : Dasyscyphus/Lachnellula on Chrysolepis Husks
I have collected this species several times from the same locality.  Here is a much less documented example from 2015:

In addition to, or in combination with, my own further attempts under the microscope, I would be happy to send you the collection for your own review.

Re : Dasyscyphus/Lachnellula on Chrysolepis Husks
This one is difficult to say, maybe it is immature? The stipe is rather long. Did it have crystals?

You can send me a portion of the new collection, but I am not sure to find time to study it during this year, as I must concentrate on Orbilia.
