I fownd this species in an old, fallen tree (Populus spec)
Can anyone give me a clue in which direction I have to search to determine this species correctly?
Thx.
Bonsoir William,
The white stipitate apothecia with granulose hairs match the genera Lachnum
You will also have to look for absence / presence of croziers , the exceeding length of the paraphyses above asci .

Michel
Thx, Michel. for your excellent hint.
I will look further, but I have (as a beginner) still some difficulties to isolate asci to see these croziers.
Cordialement,
William
Now I see your new series of pics. Although yoiur first macro shows well-developd apothecia and L. brevipilosum is a winter species, it seems the hymenia are overmature. I did not see a clear ascus on your pics, and paraphyses are always simple-septate.
If you have it still fresh, take a younger apothecium, this is better to see the croziers. But L. brevipilosum hasn't, which is more difficult to verify.
Many thx, Zotto!
With this knowledge I try the key again.
Sincerely,
William
