Dear colleagues,Recently I found this specie of Ascodesmis Tiegh.. I believe strongly in the case of A. sphaerospora, including the steps of spores, and asci paráfises are identical to those mentioned in the literature. However, as you can see, these are partially spherical spores (some are entirely), and its ornamentation appears a network crosslinked with few spines or warts. Only the form of spores changes a bit and brings me to doubt about the species. The disgust is 8-spored, clavate, perithecia small (0.5 mm), colorless and yellow at maturity when young. Scattered to gregarious. What do you think of that? Agree that it is even Ascodesmis sphaerospora??

D'accord avec Michel, il faut la taille des spores.
Les images me font plus penser à A. nana car, effectivement, elles ne semblent pas rondes !

Actual length of spores corresponds to A.sphaerospora, but should also measure the width to compare with A.microscopica?.

When I saw the spores, I thought, that there are some nivicolous myxomycetes spores among the specimen. Then I noticed, that they were inside the asci.
For instance Lamproderma cristatum and some Meridermas have spores, that resembles those. Even the size is something like that. As known, myxomycetes "eat" bacteria and fungi.
Just got a funny feeling of an union of myxomycetes and ascomycetes, That can't be possible or what?

Yes, Marja, my girlfriend studying Myxomycetes, and she eventually finds spores much like these! I also think this dubious symbiosis between ascomycetes and Myxomycetes ...

I have studied more myxomycetes than ascomycetes lately. Got still hundreds of specimens from last year to be determined...
