White hairy imperfect on Buxus
Martin Bemmann, 25-04-2010 22:28
Martin BemmannHi,

I hope someone has an idea to this one:

Two days ago I picked a tiny dead twig from a Buxus in the churchyard of St Peter in Heidelberg and wrapped it in moist kitchen tissue.
After these two days it developped some white, long haired fungi (0,1-0,3 mm).
There were a lot of spores/conidia but definetelly no asci.
The hairs are septated with lots of oildrops in the uppermost segment. (188-230x5,6-6,7 µm)
The conidia are fusiform and filled with some oildrops as well (8,4-9,9x2-3 µm).
I checked my books and files and found only hairy deuteros of black colour.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Martin

Re:White hairy imperfect on Buxus
Bonjour Martin,
Amicalement
Mila

Dear Mila,

thank you very much for your offer to share your collection! First of all I am happy to have been guided to the name of this species by others, beeing no specialist at all in this field (and in most of other fields... ;-) ) Would be very nice to see the teleomoph one.
I will be very soon away on duty for 2 months. I would be happy if you could keep an exsiccatum for me.
I will send you an email when I'm back.

Best regards,

Martin
