Peziza succosa/succosella -> P. succosa
Margot en Geert Vullings, 13-10-2024 20:23
An older found of a cup fungus in a herb-rich verge along a forest path.

Cup:
Diameter of the cup is 1- 1.5 cm, a light brown exterior, the interior lighter in color.
When damaged, colorless fluid, which turns yellow on a white background.

Structure:
Only textura globosa seen.

Asci:
Measured in water: Me = 325.2 × 16.3 µm ; Qe = 20
Lugol +, type WT

Paraphyses:
Cylindric with thickened top, with septs.

Spores:
Measured in water: Me = 17.4 × 10.4 µm ; Qe = 1.7
Most with one large guttule sometimes two.
With mostly loose round warts, no network.

Could this be Peziza succosella?

Many thanks in advance,
Margot&Geert Vullings

Re : Peziza succosa/succosella?
We tried to measure the height of the warts.
We measure 0.8-0.9 µm. We see spores with two guttules, so this is not P. succosella? But P. succosa has longer warts?

Thanks in advance,
Margot&Geert

Hallo und guten Tag Margot und Geert,

die makro- und mikroskopischen Merkmale passen zu P. succosa.

Eine gute Zeit
Ursula
