Ostropalean fungus on Rubus
Enrique Rubio,

This ostropalean fungus grew on hanging Rubus stems in central-western Spain. The erumpent ascomata are very similar to those of Ostropa barbara, but the orange-coloured covering seems to differ from that of this species. I have not found anything in Sherwood's monograph. so do you have any ideas?
Many thanks in advance.

Re : Ostropalean fungus on Rubus
my drawing HB 6047a shows an ochre-orange interior (hymenium) but is blackish-brown outside.
The wall of your perithecia is also blackish-brown. maybe this is only variation.

Yes, Zotto. It is possible.

Re : Ostropalean fungus on Rubus
This collection seems to have a slight orange tint as well:

Re : Ostropalean fungus on Rubus
It is possible, Martin, but I do not see it clearly as in my pics.
