Gernot FriebesHi,I am out of ideas for this one. I collected Sal
i found this Ascobolus on dove dung. I have never seen such a Ascobolus. Is this Ascobolus perforatus?
Fruitbody: 400 x 300 µ, brownish
Asci: 300 - 350 x 70 - 80 µ, 4 spored
Spores: 35 x 35 µ
Greetings Sven
The size and shape of the spores do not correspond to Ascobolus perforatus. A.perforatus with smaller spores and subglobulous to largely ellipsoid form. Your mushroom is very similar to a find made by S.Tello in Spain and by one of his friends in the Canary Islands. I also harvested this mushroom after cultivation of material sent from Spain. This is certainly a new species and we are working on it to perhaps publish it. Some apothecia have asci with 8 spores and others with 4. Can you keep your finds and put them in herbarium, as well as coordinates? Thank you.
Michel.
¿Ha visto alguna ornamentación en las esporas maduras?
Saludos.
Salvador.
thanks for answer! I have not seen any ornament. Perhaps it was not yet mature enough. I'll see it again in a few days.
Greetings Sven
