Peziza limnaea ?
Ralf Dahlheuser, 30-05-2017 20:17
Ralf DahlheuserFound on wet, sandy soil, mixed with rotting plant parts under Petasites. Fruitbodys young yellow, then ocher, light brown with a slight violet shimmer when mature. Not milking.

Re : Peziza limnaea ?
Hello, Mr. Dahlheuser,
it looks a lot like P. polaripapulata. I saw it just once and the spores were up to 17,5 um long (dead sporeprint, including onramentation), but Garofoli & Baiano wrote (15)16-18(20) × 9-10(11) um, which looks ok.
P. limnaea has different ornamentation, elongated elements (a bit like scratches from claws). :-)

Hello Mr. Halasu,

thanks a lot for your help. P. polaripapulata fits very well.

Re : Peziza limnaea ?
Just to add that Baiano & Garofoli in Mycologia Montenegrina (2000) treated as Peziza polaripapulata their collections of Peziza badioides. I discussed this several times with them: they only gave faith to a diffuse (and now recognised as incorrect) opinion that these names were synonyms. So read that work as treating P. badioides.
