Nectria-like ... Hydropisphaeria?
Ethan Crenson, 08-02-2017 08:46
In Brooklyn, NYC on hardwood (possibly Quercus) on bare wood. I found these orange Nectria-like perithecia. They collapse into a cup shape.  No color change in KOH. Spores hyaline, 1-septate. Size 11 - 16um by 5 - 6.5um.  They may be associated with an unknown pyrenomycete (see first photo).  IKI-  Thanks in advance.

Christian

Re : Nectria-like ... Hydropisphaeria?
Christian,
Thank you for your comments.  I'm not able to find any striations on the ascospores.  These images are in Lacto Phenol Cotton Blue.  Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ethan
