I wonder if anyone has any ideas about this curious, apparently xerotolerant species I collected on a small decorticated (still attached) Carpinus betulus branch on 26/4/16 in the UK:
Ascocarps up to 0.6mm, hairy, black +/-superficial
Ascospores 24-29.2 x 5.5-7.6 µm, smooth, brown, 5-6 septate, strongly constricted at septae
Asci apparently bitunicate
Hairs dark, thick walled, tapering. lighter at apices, septate, with small droplets
Again, I have no clue where this species belongs so any advice would be most welcome.
Merci,
Nick
