It was 5cm across and had a short smooth stem.
I cannot see any noticeable reaction to Meltzer (or Lugol).
The spores have no large internal guttules and appear smooth and are 20-21 x 14-15.
The paraphyses are swollen at the tip and many have swollen septa.
The base of the asci have what I believe are croziers.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Mal

Hello Malcolm, compare with Disciotis venosa, the macro/micro seem to fit well.
Did u observe brown coloration at the tip of paraphyses?

Re : Peziza
Thanks Adam and Nicolas.
It was something I considered but rejected the idea because I have only seen it a couple of times before and it was much less uniform and had a strongly ridged stem.
I will also look for the pigmented paraphyses.
