Sordariomycete

Hola,

I found these perithecia in Elm wood.
They have diameter 400um size and a variable neck, up to 1400um in length.
The Asci are octosporadas with visible apical apparatus in water, IKI -
Spores are colored and I don't see having germinative slit. It seems that they have apical germination pore.
I can't identify it, perhaps next to Anthostoma?

Saludos,
Susana

Hi Susana,

I would suggest Xylomelasma sordida, see here: http://www.mycologia.org/content/98/1/68.full. />

Best wishes,
Gernot

Re : Sordariomycete

Yes, it's right. Gernot, I remember well you had found it on a polyporous fungus.

When we have seen it one time, we can't forget it.

Nice finding Susanna !
