When I found the first apothecia of this disco and took my hand-lens, I thought this should be a complete special species of Arachnopeziza. But when I found more and riper apothecia, I was more and more convinced that it is only a small form of Arachnopeziza aurelia, a species quite common in the Algarve, mostly on Eucalyptus remnants. When I looked into the microscope I was first confirmed of this because of the typical spores with long appendices. More "pro forme" I took measurements and was surprised then: the spores are distinctly larger than in typical A. aurelia. With Zottos key I get to A. floriphila - but can this be?

A. aurelia appears to have sometimes spores 14-20 x 3-4. I think it is. The hairs are very different in floriphila, do you have a photo?

auch wenn meine Maße ja darüber noch etwas hinausgehen, denke ich auch - es ist einfach nur A. aurelia. Auf dem kleinen Substrat (Cistus-Laub) etwas kleiner als etwa auf Eucalyptus-Resten, Kiefernzapfen oder ähnlichem. Es muss nach meiner Erfahrung für diese Art ein saures Streu-Milieu sein - auch bei uns in Deutschland, wo die Art m.E. meist recht selten ist.

Nein, Fotos der Haare habe ich leider nicht gemacht - aber sie passten schon zu A. aurelia. Mir war (ist) nicht klar, wie die von A. floriphila abweichen.

Rein aus der Erinnerung: A. floriphila hat viel breitere und dickwandigere hyaline Haare, der Pilz ist ja auch farblos.

Übrgiens: da das Herunterladen der Einzelbilder aus Ascofrance immer so zeitaufwendig ist, könntest du mir die vier per Mail schicken? Einfach die Fotos die du hochgeladen hast, keine Originale.

Und den Lebermoosartikel kannst du mir gerne auch weiterleiten :-)
