Lophodermium on pine scales
Jenny Seawright, 01-03-2015 14:48
Jenny SeawrightHello all,

Hoping that help might be possible with a Lophodermium found on pine scales of Pinus sylvestris on coastal heathland.......
Paraphyses had swollen but not curled tips, spores measured 90-115 x 2.5-3 µm

With regards,
Jenny

Re : Lophodermium on pine scales
I've never seen this on cones where I am (very cool!), but there are reports of Lophodermium conigenum on fallen P. sylvestris cones and it seems to fit with yours.

Many thanks Joey, I'd wondered L. conigenum and then discounted it as for some reason I thought the spores on mine were the wrong length.......!

Really useful PDF too.

With regards,
Jenny
