Imperfect fungus on cones
Ralph Vandiest, 03-01-2014 10:29
Ralph VandiestHello,

I found this imperfect fungus on cones of pinus sylvestris. At the beginning it were just bright yellow dot's (foto first stage) but after a few weeks they become more or less 'stalked apotheca'. Size is 0,15/0,2mm. Spores max 3x1,3µm.

Does anybody knows what this could be?

Regards,

Ralph

Re : Imperfect fungus one cones
I have a similar fungus but sessile, on Larix resin covered by a black hyphomycete.

Lux, Widdebierg, Larix resin, soc. Hyalorbilia resinae. Sporod. rehydr. 0.18-0.35 mm diam., 3convex. Conidia *3.5-4.5 x 1.3-1.5 µm, Ölm.0-1.

Dendrodochium citrinum is similar but has globose conidia.

Hello Zotto,

Thanks for your mail. I find no further info on the net about Hyalorbilia Resinae. It looks indeed a lot like D. Citrinum in the link below execpt for the spores...

Hyalorbilia resinae was only associated, and is undescribed.

Yes, I wonder why there exist yellow fruitbodies on conifers with so different conidia.
