Today along side a sandy road wich leeds through a bogfield this purplish peziza. It is not easily determined.

With Hohmeyer the answer is Peziza ninguis

With Nordic P. sepiatra


With Field Mycology on P .ninguis.


Asci    256-280 x 16


Spores smooth, no guttules (16-) 17-20 (-21) x 10-13


Parafysen slender, septated, topcel with lightbrown content, top to 8um broad


But! some parafysen are strongly moniliniform, even with projections


 


Unfortonally i dont have pictures of mic, i dont have the peziza but a more experianced pezizaman (from whom i've got the info, he studied it)


 


Any thoughts?

Hello,

Last Sunday, a friend showed me P. sepiatra and it resembles this very much.
It was growing on fire places. Were there remains of burnt wood, or burnt soil?
Just in case.

It doesn't look like Peziza ninguis. This species is always associated with melting snow, so if there are some "névés" (snow patches) near your collection, why not. In other case, verify the spore ornamentation in cotton blue...
