setulose pyrenomycete on Pinus wood
Björn Wergen, 31-01-2012 13:42
Björn WergenHi,

today I have found a curious small pyrenomycete growing on decorticated Pinus wood. I have recognized the fruitbodies by looking for fbs of Hyaloscypha aureliella.

Fbs are about 80-120µm broad, sphaerical to a bit flattened when older, covered with 20-40µm long, black setae. Whole fruitbody is black.
Spores 16-19x5,5-7µm, clavate, with 5 transversal and 1-2 longitudinal septa, pale green-brown, smooth, with small dotlike oildrops. Asci 40-50x15-20µm, saccate and very short stalked, with 8 spores, bitunicate? Paraphyses not seen.

Perhaps someone has an idea, it would be very great :)

regards,
björn

Hi Yan,

my correct name is björn.

Thank you for the help. What dou you wish to see in the complete documentation? Perhaps it is possible to make some more photos, if there are more fruitbodies ;)

regards,
björn

Hi Yannick,

I did, the spores remember me on some species of Phaeosphaeria. I will look for a key now.

Well I think Pleospora species have longer and cylindrical asci. Here we have a saccate asci. I would say that this is very untypical for Pleospora sp

Ce n'est pas un Pleospora. La forme des asques, la forme et la couleur des spores, l'absence de paraphyses sont typiques des Capronia ou genres affines.

Hi Alain,

I saw you had a similar species, called C. semi-immersa. Where is Gernot? :D
