Hello,on a splintered part of a branch on the grou
For my master's dissertation I work on coprophilous fungi on dung of turtle and various species of birds. Most fungi I have identified, but there are still I have troubles with to identify even on genus level, let alone on species level. I hope you could help me with these species. Attached you'll find pictures and measurements of all 6 species.
Measurements:
Species 1:
Web-like hyphomycete on dung of duck and magpie
Spores hyaline, measure 11-16 x 8-12 µm; seem to split in half
Species 2:
Perithecium with long stiff hairs, found on dung of an unknown bird
Fruiting body: 185-200 x 175-180 µm
Spores hyaline, ellipsoid: 4-6 x 2-2,5 µm
Hairs: 100-210 x 3-5 µm
Asci not found
Species 3:
Perithecium with shorter stiff hairs and long necks, found on dung of an unknown bird
Fruiting body: 150-200 x 100-110 µm
Spores hyaline, ellipsoid: 5-8 x 2-3 µm
Hairs: 40-70 x 3-4 µm
Asci not found
Species 4:
Globose perithecium/pseudothecium with stiff hairs, found on dung of turtle
Fruiting body: 95-120 µm diameter
Spores hyaline, lemon-shaped, with barely visible small pedicels at both ends: 3-4 x 1,5-2 µm
Hairs: 62-70 x 2,5-4 µm
Asci not found
Species 5:
Perithecia with several necks, each very different, also found on dung of turtle
Fruiting body: 370-500 x 260-500 µm
Asci: 55-70 x 11-14 µm
Spores hyaline, asymmetrical fusoid with many oildrops: 16-25 x 4-7 µm
Species 6: (FOUND! These are Myxobacteria!)
Slimy, amorphous, yellow to orange to pinkish colored species, found on dung of rooster, blackbird, magpie and duck.
Spores hyaline, globose: 2-3 µm diameter
Thanks in advance for the help!
Kind regards,
Lennert
The other 5 are still unknown.
