Helotiale on Osmunda
Andgelo Mombert, 13-11-2023 19:43
Andgelo Mombert
Bonjour,

Andgelo

Re : Helotiale on Osmunda
Hi Andgelo

interesting! I am not sure whether it is a Calycellina/Mollisina or Calycina.

The spores are at least partly 1-septate already in the living asci, which is more typical for Calycina, and also spore shape reminds me more to that.

Allophylaria filicum is excluded by the colour and amyloid apical rings and 1-septate spores.

Allophylaria campanuliformis is said to be close to A. filicum, but I have no clear concept.

Helotium aureolum could be a synonym, but the spores are too long to fit your fungus.

So it remains: no idea.

Is the site high in the mountains?
