semi-immersed pyrenomycete with long curved spores
Ethan Crenson, 05-02-2023 05:02
Hello all,

On a recent visit to the Bahamas I came across this pyrenomycete.  It was growing in dense wood, which may have been Casuarina.  It is very hard and carbonaceous and appears to have a brown subiculum and quite long necks, some of them a bit swollen at the apex.

Asci IKI-, 223-290 x 9.2-10.3µm

Paraphyses filiform.

Spores hyaline, multi-septate, "c" shaped. 112-129 x 3.6-4.2µm

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ethan
