Scutellinia olivascens var. minutospora?
Mirek Gryc, 01-08-2022 19:41
Hi
I suspect that my identification is correct but I am not sure if nothing has changed recently about this species so I would ask for your opinion.
Two fruiting bodies grew on charred wood.
Diameter of the fruiting bodies about 3 mm. The color of the Hymenium dark red. In the pictures, the color distorted, the fruiting bodies lay in the ripening room for three days.
Marginal hair maximum 750µm in length.
Spores:
(17.8) 18.4 - 20 (20.8) × (12) 12.1 - 13.7 (13.9) µm
Q = (1.3) 1.4 - 1.6; N = 14

Me = 19.3 × 13.2 µm; Qe = 1.5

The only irregularity with the original description is the length of the hair. As described, it should be not longer than 450µm, but for me their length reaches 750um

Thank you in advance for your opinions.
Regards.
Mirek

Re : Scutellinia olivascens var. minutospora?
Bonsoir Mirek.
Je n'ai pas la description originale mais dans la clé de B. Jeannerot version 1.0 – December 2019, la longueur des poils est identique dans la variété et le type (entre 600 et 800 µ). Seules les spores sont plus petites pour la variété.
Amicalement.
Richard.

Re : Scutellinia olivascens var. minutospora?
Dear Richard.
Yes, I know what you wrote and that's why I am worried about these discrepancies.
In Benat key, nothing is mentioned about the length of the hair for this form, so I conclude that it should be comparable to S. olivascens hair.
However, taking into account the original description, the length of the hair is given to 450 so slightly less.
That's why I would like to know what others think about it.
Thank you and best regards.
