Helminthosphaeria on Quercus wood
Enrique Rubio, 04-08-2021 19:26
Enrique RubioDo you have any ideas for this setose Helminthosphaeria that was growing on decorticated Quercus petraea wood at 1000 m of altitude near ascomata of Orbilia xanthostigma? The aseptate ascospores have at least one apical pore.
Many thanks in advance

Hi Andy
In one of your last keys (Mycologia, 106(3), 2014) I can read:
Ascomata setose, asci 4-8-spored, ascospores remaining hyaline, 8-12 x 5-6 mm . . . . . . . . . . . . ............... Helminthosphaeria heterotricha.

Of course the ascospores of my collection were not hyaline.

Hi Enrique,

I would be happy to sequence this for you if you send me the collection.

Best,
Andy
