Hello, This fungus was growing in a swampy area with rhododendron, thuga, viburnum, betula, alnus, symplocarpus, tussilago, viola and ferns etc. Medullary ex weaved, ectal globose. IKI - or very slight. No crosiers, paraphyses thick but filiform. Spores ovoid to ellipsoid, some w one or two guttation drops, uncommon septate, measure ~ 14x 8 um Cranberry wilderness West Virginia USA, ~800 meters elevation. No sclerotia. Growing from wood and leaf debris. Thanks! Devin

Perhaps a Dumontinia or Sclerotinia. Important is to see from where the stipes emerge. Is there a sclerotium?

The spores should be either 2- or 4-nucleate. But this requires perhaps some staining or phase contrast and a clean photo, aperture not too much closed.
