Brown Mollisia on grass
Juuso Äikäs, 12-07-2020 17:42
I found a lot of these growing gregariously on dead grass culms.

Spores with some oil drops, paraphyses fairly wide and at least some clavate. IKI positive blue, KOH negative. I think the asci were with croziers, but am not entirely sure.

Spores measurements:
(9.3) 10.3 - 13 (13.2) × (1.9) 2.1 - 2.5 (2.6) µm
Q = (3.5) 4.5 - 6.1 (6.6) ; N = 15
Me = 11.5 × 2.3 µm ; Qe = 5.2

Any idea about the species or is it hopeless?

I suggest M. juncina.

Re : Brown Mollisia on grass
Thanks for the suggestion. I checked your folder and it does have a lot similarity. But I wonder does it grow on Poeaceae as well as Juncus? These were on the same grass tuft as the Albotrichas, and later I found similar looking on grass as well.

Yes, but there are some samples in my folder which were from Poaceae, e.g. in PP20090426-002 005 you see this from the photo.
